Situated within the greater Luxlakes development in Chengdu, China, Parcel C25 is a residential neighborhood that offers a diverse array of retail, residential, and leisure programs. The design of the three residential towers prioritizes views of the surrounding water, with scalloped balconies that extend the living space and sculpt the distinguished forms of each tower. Each floor contains two spacious units that offer multiple view points and access to the outdoors. The scalloped exterior design is both functional and expressive, optimizing the use of occupiable space and providing visual interest.
The retail program on the ground floor continues this design motif by utilizing undulating rooflines to draw visitors in. A filigree of light columns arranged with varying density signals the building entrances while enhancing the architectural expression at the corners.
As visitors and residents can enter the complex via water taxi or road, the project has no defined “edge”—rather, it presents a cohesive presence on all sides.
